Blur App — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 July 2026
Blur App ("the app") is a photo-privacy editor operated by Anoa Studio L.L.C-FZ ("Anoa Studio", "we", "us"), Meydan Grandstand, 6th floor, Meydan Road, Nad Al Sheba, Dubai, U.A.E. This policy explains what the app does — and does not — collect.
Your photos never leave your device
Every edit — blur, mosaic, background removal, emoji, and face and text detection — runs entirely on your device using on-device processing (Google ML Kit and MediaPipe). Your photos are never uploaded to us or anyone else. We never see your gallery: the system photo picker hands the app only the single image you choose, and the result is saved back to your device. Exported images are stripped of EXIF metadata, including GPS location.
What we collect
To keep the app stable and understand how it is used, the app uses Google services that collect limited technical data:
-
Usage analytics (Firebase Analytics): which screens and tools you use, session length, app version, device model and operating system, language and region, and a randomly-generated app-instance identifier. Google may infer approximate location from your IP address. This data is pseudonymous and is not used to identify you personally.
-
Crash and performance reports (Firebase Crashlytics): if the app crashes, a diagnostic report — stack trace, device state, OS version, IP address and a crash-installation identifier — is sent so we can fix it.
-
Configuration (Firebase Remote Config): the app fetches feature settings using a Firebase installation identifier.
-
Advertising (Google AdMob): the app shows ads served by Google AdMob, which may collect a device advertising identifier and ad-interaction data to select, show and measure ads (using Google's Privacy Sandbox on supported devices). Where consent is required — for example in the EEA and UK — you will be asked before personalized ads are shown.
What we do NOT collect
We do not collect your photos or gallery contents (they are never uploaded), and there is no account, name or email required. We only receive your email address if you choose to write to us.
Who processes the data
The technical data above is processed by Google (Firebase / AdMob) as our service provider, and may be processed on servers outside your country, including the United States, under Google's terms and safeguards.
Legal bases (EEA / UK)
We rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the app secure, stable and improving it for analytics and crash reporting, and on your consent for advertising where consent is required.
Your choices and rights
-
Reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings; on iOS you also control tracking permission in Settings.
-
Stop all collection at any time by uninstalling the app.
-
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete your data — contact us and we will help. Because the data is pseudonymous, we may ask for details (such as your app-instance ID) to locate it.
California (CCPA / CPRA)
If you live in California, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to access or delete it, and to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not sell your personal information for money. Showing personalized ads may involve "sharing" your advertising identifier for cross-context behavioural advertising; California users can opt out of this in the app or your device settings. Contact us to exercise these rights — we will not discriminate against you for doing so.
Children
Blur App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves; the "last updated" date above shows the current version, and material changes will be highlighted in the app.
